What to expect on your visits

Please wear loose clothing. Please have a light snack an hour or two before attending. If you are feeling particularly tired on the day of the treatment, please mention this.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the appointment time, allowing yourself to relax and get ready for the treatment.

At your first visit, your health will be discussed with you in detail. The practitioner will also take the pulses on both wrists and examine your tongue.

Most people find acupuncture treatment deeply relaxing. You are encouraged to close your eyes, relax deeply or even fall asleep. Often you don't feel very much because the needles are extremely fine, thinner than 2 strands of your hair put together.

After the treatment, try to drink plenty of water and have plenty of rest. Avoid alcohol, spicy food, heavy exertion and very hot baths for the day.

The number of visits required depends very much on the severity and duration of your complaint. Treatment usually takes place once a week and will be less regular as your health improves. Generally, you should feel an improvement of well-being after 4 sessions.
